enhance the innovative PPG paint system.

D8131 provides bodyshops with an easy to use clearcoat which combines the high speed drying, easy polish for all repairs. Is comes with a smart and simple package with one hardener dedicated for standard temperature application.

• Application in 2 coats. 5 min flash off between coats and 5 min flash before bake.
• 1 Visit application; 1 light and 1 full coat.
• Fast drying; 15 minutes @ 60°C

• Product Description: The PPG D8131 & D8254 Hardener Kit is a high-performance ultra-high-speed (UHS) clearcoat system specifically designed for automotive refinishing. It utilizes advanced PPG clearcoat technology to deliver exceptional gloss, flow, and polishing ease. Ideal for a variety of bodyshop repair applications, this kit simplifies the refinishing process with fast drying times and streamlined application.
• Kit Contents: Includes 5 liters of PPG D8131 UHS Clearcoat and 2.5 liters of PPG D8254 Hardener, giving a total kit volume of 7.5 liters.
• Application: Suitable for panel, multi-panel, and overall repairs. Recommended for use over properly prepared and painted automotive substrates.
• Application Method: Apply in 2 coats—1 light followed by 1 full coat. Allow a 5-minute flash-off between coats and before baking.
• Drying Time: Fast curing with a bake time of 15 minutes at 60°C (140°F).
• Mix Ratio: Mix clearcoat and hardener as per PPG guidelines (typically 2:1 ratio by volume). Always refer to the technical data sheet for exact mixing instructions.
• Finish Quality: Exhibits high gloss level and smooth flow. Easy to polish after baking or air drying.
• Composition: Solvent-based clearcoat. Contains isocyanates—use with appropriate PPE and in a well-ventilated spray booth.
• Surface Compatibility: Designed for use on refinished automotive body panels. Surface must be clean, dry, and properly prepped or basecoated before application.
• Storage Instructions: Store in original containers in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated area. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or temperatures exceeding 35°C (95°F).
• Safety Information: Contains harmful solvents and isocyanates. Use with adequate personal protective equipment including gloves, goggles, and respiratory protection. Refer to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
• Environmental Considerations: Dispose of in accordance with local regulations regarding solvent-based products. Do not pour unused material down drains or waterways.
